With Maximus the music is separated into low's, mid's, and high's. I use Maximus for this, other people use Ozone, but really use your preference. Once you've EQ'd the music, then it's time to use a multi-band compressor. The second one is for either cleaning up muddy sounds or boosting preferable frequencies.
